Kids Day Maricopa coming next month
Learn about crime prevention, child safety, and environmental awareness at Kids Day Maricopa on Saturday, September 21st.
The Maricopa Police Department will be on hand to provide FREE fingerprinting of all the children and will also have police vehicles and the K-9 unit on display. Additionally, there will be special appearances by Smokey Bear, McGruff the Crime Dog and other loved fire and crime characters.
The clown team of Sgt. Pepper & Gooburr will also be performing and teaching children about "Stranger Danger".
The Maricopa Fire Department will be on-hand as well with a fire truck and the safety house, teaching fire safety tips. The Ak-Chin Fire Department will provide seatbelt safety information.
Event sponsor, Dr. John A. Donohue will provide free health screenings, and will be distributing vital information on disease prevention and health promotion.
The event is free and will include information on bicycle safety, drug awareness with the M.A.S.H. coalition, and internet safety with Judge Scott Sulley, as well as a safety demo from ATA Karate kids.
Desert Sun Performing Arts and Desert Star Gymnastics will also perform.
There will be free balloons and free food and drink for everyone, as well as special give-aways and free prize drawings throughout the event.
Kids Day Maricopa is Saturday, September 21st, 2013, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, at Maricopa Wells Middle School, 45725 West Honeycutt Avenue.
