Newly-formed local chorus to perform first concert this weekend

Looking to get into the Christmas spirit with some good, old-fashioned caroling?  Then join the new Maricopa Chorus as they hold their first public performance this weekend!

The chorus, together with their special guests, Maricopa Music Circle, will present a free holiday concert on Sunday, December 8th, at 7:00 pm.  The show will be held at First Baptist Church of Maricopa, 18705 North John Wayne Parkway.

The program will feature many holiday favorites including familiar Christmas carols and excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. The concert will conclude with The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah performed jointly between the Maricopa Chorus and Maricopa Music Circle.

The chorus also entertained attendees of the Christmas Tree Lighting at Maricopa City Hall this past Tuesday with their caroling just before the main event.

Sunday's concert is free and donations will be accepted.
