MCT staging own adaption of "Pride and Prejudice" beginning Friday


Maricopa Community Theatre's first production of 2014 premieres this weekend.

The local performing group will be staging their own original adaption of Jane Austen’s classic, Pride and Prejudice. The famous Victorian romantic comedy is the story of three families and the challenges of finding suitable marriages during the time period.

The adpation was written by director Danielle Crosbie and members of the Maricopa Music Circle will be accompanying the production with classic music of the period.

The premiere performance is this Friday, January 17th at 7:00 pm. The remaining performances are Saturday, January 18th at 2:00 and 7:00 pm, Friday, January 24th at 7:00pm, Saturday, January 25th at 2:00 and 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st at 7:00 pm, and Saturday, February 1st at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.

The shows will be held at the MCT facility at 41600 West Smith-Enke Road, Building 12, Suite 129, near the Maricopa Public Library.

Tickets will be $12 in advance and $15 at the door and may be purchased through brownpapertickets.com.
