Mayor and Council receive life-saving CPR instruction

The Maricopa Fire Department took this week’s City Council meeting as an opportunity to do a hands-on demonstration with the mayor and council to show how one minute of training can save a life.

The one minute presentation, led by MFD’s Senior PIO/Paramedic/Firefighter Brad Pitassi, showed the council the basic techniques involved in saving a life. The PA played 70's disco hit Staying Alive as they worked on the CPR dummies in front of them. (The song has the perfect beat for the rhythm of heart compressions required to be effective)
